My tops are sealed first with a high quality, penetrating sealer and then coated with a non-toxic surface wax made from plant resins. Over the ten years I have been making these tops, I have figured out how to create an extremely durable surface without losing the natural feeling of this material. Concrete does periodically need to be refreshed.
Wax your tops twice a year
Simply rub on a thin coat using a clean white rag. Start with a small area, apply the sealer with a saturated rag. Follow within a few minutes with a large clean rag to remove any excess material, and essentially buff the surface by hand. A small bottle of was is provided wth each countertop I install.
Cleaning
Tops can be cleaned with any non-abrasive cleaner. Excessive use of abrasive pads will remove the surface wax. Areas that see a lot of scrubbing with soap and water (e.g. around the kitchen sink) will need fresh wax applied more frequently.
Staining
Like any natural stone, concrete can stain. Citrus, vinegar, wine and other acidic liquids will be the most likely culprits. If staining occurs, sand the area with fine wet/dry sandpaper and apply more wax.
Warranty
Naturally I stand behind my work and my clients' satisfaction is essential to the ongoing development of my business.
A standard one-year warranty applies to all my work, and I will do my best to work with you if there is additional service needed.
